Deck The Halls

Deck the Halls is not a bad movie overall, but it is a good clean family comedy that is filled with a very trite moral story that has been tried and tested over the years.
It’s been a while since I’ve seen Danny DeVito on the big-screen. On the same note, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen Matthew Broderick on the big screen as well. I’ll be honest with you, this was definitely not a movie that I wanted to see. But since I’m in Canada with family visiting my uncle’s family, we really did not have much of a choice. This movie, like hundreds of other movies, is completely geared towards the children. I would recommend that your children are at least five years old to enjoy the light-hearted moments in this film. I also think that this movie is great to watch for shits and giggles, but in my opinion, definitely not worth the evening show rates.
As I mentioned before, this movie is all about a good moral story. I guess you could say that it is “Love thy neighbor.” A character mistreats his friend, the friend mistreats his family, everyone loses out, and finally they all come together and apologize and enjoy their holidays. Bottom line, I felt Home Alone was better, but hey, if you want to take the kids to a good family movie, Deck the Halls is definitely a good one to watch.
