Casino Royale

Casino Royale is the 21st movie in the Bond 007 series. In addition to being the newest Bond film, it’s also the first Bond movie to take a much darker direction like the ones that starred Timothy Dalton. So what exactly do I mean? Remember how most Bond films portray Bond as a flamboyant playboy who seems to have a gadget for every single incident. Plainly speaking, it seems that Bond can never get stuck in any situation. However, Casino Royale shows Bond as more human and much more cold-blooded. In fact, it seems that Bond is much more inclined to kill for the thrill and fun of it rather than for theatrics. Even the action sequences are pretty well thought out and entertaining.
I think the biggest problem I had with Casino Royale was its action sequence that takes place near the beginning of the film. It shows Bond chasing some mark through a construction site and through town eventually ending up in an embassy. However, the “bad guy” is able to do some crazy acrobatic maneuvers with ease. What I don’t understand is that this dude is able to defy gravity and moves like an extra-terrestrial being. That is perhaps my only gripe about this movie, although the action sequence is quite entertaining.
As with most Bond movies, this film is filled with gorgeous girls and sensual love scenes. I find that Daniel Craig is able to skillfully blend wit and humor naturally and it adds a very colorful viewing pleasure. Bottom line is that this movie is definitely worth watching. Casino Royale is much better than all of Pierce Brosnan versions and is actually a bit more believable. So go out sometime and watch this movie, I think you’ll be in for a surprise.
