Google & AIM Still Don’t Talk

It has been exactly one year since Google announced that it would allow its Google Talk users talk to AOL Instant Messenger users. I still cannot believe that Google and AIM have not allowed inter-operability between their respective clients. I have thought it was mostly due to technical reasons, but as this blog post points out, it is most likely due to corporate politics. After reading this speculation, I highly doubt that the two clients will offer inter-operability.
