New Computer

For a late Christmas present, my parents decided to purchase a new motherboard and processor for me.  In addition, I am going to get more ram, so that should really increase my computer’s performance.

I just got the Gigabyte GA-M55plus-S3 rev. 2.1 with the AMD Athlon 64 3800+. I hope to purchase two 1 GB DDR2 RAM chips tomorrow.  I’ll try to have pictures up tomorrow as well.

My current computer specs are:

  • Pentium III 933 MHz
  • 512 MB RAM
  • Nvidia GeForce4 MX420 (64 MB video card)
  • 45 GB HDD & 120 GB HDD

Disposable Credit Cards

Being a victim of fraudulent credit card activity, I am finally glad that some company out there has finally released disposable credit card numbers for consumers to use during their online purchase expeditions. PayPal is finally testing out their new system that allows users to generate virtual debit card numbers. What exactly does that mean?

You can use PayPal Virtual Debit Card when making online purchases anywhere MasterCard is accepted. PayPal Virtual Debit Card generates a virtual card number each time you make a transaction online so you don’t have to use your personal debit or credit card number.

Some of you might be wondering what the benefit of this is?

By generating a new virtual card number to use in place of your debit or credit card number, PayPal Virtual Debit Card helps protect your financial information every time you shop. It also saves you time by automatically filling in shipping in billing forms at checkout, protects you from fake eBay and PayPal websites, and offers zero liability on unauthorized purchases made from your account.

Now I can protect my personal credit/debit card numbers and even if someone stole my virtual credit/debit card number, I’m still in the clear because I won’t lose too much money, if any at all. Hopefully Google Checkout will also introduce a similar service.

Congrats to Jennifer

If some of you have been following John Chow’s blog, you may recall that he held a contest for his readers to write a review about his blog. All in all, about 63 reviews were written. The winner of this contest was Jennifer Lynch. Her winning review can be found here. Her review is quite entertaining and filled with witty humor.

My congratulations to her for an awesome review. And my sincerest thanks to John Chow for linking my blog on his blog. My traffic did increase and I really appreciated that. Thanks dude! :)
