This is part II of a series of posts designed to introduce you to me on a more intimate level. It is my intention to help you learn more about me and my views. It will also give you some insight into my own beliefs and what I hope to accomplish through this blog and in life. Please feel free to comment or use the contact form.
Part II of the series introduces my vision for this blog. Part I can be found here.
What is the aim of this blog?
In all honesty, this is my third blog that I have created. My first blog was an attempt to create a personal journal that would be viewable by those who happen to come across it. However, my lack of maturity and sense of character encouraged the blog to become a channel that would convey a false image of my true personality. After some life-changing events occurred in December 2005, I felt it was necessary for me to re-explore my inner self and discover who I really was. Hence, I took a break from my original blog and created another blog that was more of a collaborative effort among three of us. Unfortunately, my two buddies did not believe in the blog and did not contribute to it at all. Soon I lost interest as well and decided to end it completely. At this time, I was beginning to realize who I really was and I decided that it would be better for me to take a step back from blogging. During this time, I spent hours trying to figure out what I wanted to blog about and how I was going to go about doing it. I also spent time learning about myself and finally putting it into words. And this is where I ended up after finally discovering a new passion to blog and a new platform to blog on.
Unfortunately, I have no answer to the original question. I am not sure where this blog is headed. Over the coming weeks, I will start to write more about political issues and key events taking place around the US and the world at large. I have read hundreds of posts on different blogs about how they wish to increase their ad revenue. However, I can assure you that I have no intention of implementing any ads on my site unless I am unable to afford operating it. Even in that case, I will do my best to keep my writings unobstructed by text-ads or banner ads. I have nothing against advertising on blogs, however, I do find them obtrusive and I feel that they would not complement my site in any way. However, I am interested in learning more about how to expand my blog’s visibility on the web and how to push more traffic to it. Maybe, I may change my mind about advertising, but it would be interesting to see my opinions change, wouldn’t it?
When will you discover the purpose of this blog?
As I continue to write more, I think I will discover the purpose of this blog and I will begin to align the blog to cater to that purpose. However, until then, I think the best thing to do is to continue writing as I have been for the past two months. I also think that by consistently writing regularly I can demonstrate my commitment to this blog. I cannot declare a deadline by which time I will find the purpose, but I hope that I can discover the purpose along the way. It is possible that it will not strike me until someone points it out. Perhaps you should share your thoughts on this blog and help me find the purpose?
Any goals? Other comments?
As I have mentioned before, my only goal for this blog is to increase my reader base. Even if I have only a few readers, I am still content with that. Besides, I am more interested in writing and receiving feedback than really concerned about not having any readers. I blog because I enjoy it and I want to share my thoughts and feelings with the rest of the world. I do not blog for money nor do I have any interest in doing so. In my opinion, blogging for money on this blog would taint it and it would serve no purpose. However, I am willing to do whatever I can to improve its rankings in search engines and using SEO strategies.
