Wow, this is probably the longest hiatus I have taken from my blog since starting it. I can attribute the problem directly to my busy schedule that has 18 credit hours of all upper-level engineering classes. Essentially, I am plagued with deadlines and meetings throughout the week and I simply am too exhausted to even sit down and write something.

I just learned that I won a $1000 academic scholarship for next school year in addition to my $1000 independent research scholarship. The USOAR scholarship, the official name for the independent research, required me to attend several meetings with the Vice Provost and deans of the university. Throughout the entire week, I was preparing and delivering ideas on my research proposal and accepting flowery words of congratulations from the administrators because they found my research to be one of the most profound topics.

The other academic scholarship I won is simply one that awards me $1000 every semester for one school year. In other words, my tuition for next fall will only be around $2500 plus books, housing, and other expenses. I just want to thank both Diego and Michelle for pushing me to apply for this scholarship and at times, holding me in a choke-hold till I filled it out.
