Not Getting Any Tonight?

Faithfully visiting Digg, I came across this hillarious post about how some guy got “revenge” on his girlfriend after she refused to have sex with him one night. The post is actually on Craigslist and is definitely worth a read.

To summarize, the author wanted to have sex with his girlfriend one night, but as soon as things started to get going, she claimed that she was tired and that she just wanted him to hold her. Obviously, the author was frustrated and taken aback. The next day, he took a day off from work and took his girlfriend shopping. He encouraged her to purchase anything her heart desired. In fact, he “allowed” her to go ahead and get the many different outfits she was trying along with footwear to go with them. As soon as they were ready to check out, he told her that he wasn’t ready to check out. He went on to tell her that he just wants her to hold the items.

My quick summary does not do any justice to the story, but it is definitely a funny one. I still can’t stop laughing at how smart this guy was.

Win An LCD Monitor

Seems like there’s no shortage of blog contests throughout the blog-o-sphere. John Chow just came back from Taiwan and has tons of stuff to give away. First on his list is a brand new 24″ LCD monitor. Did I mention that this monitor is wide-screen as well? The contest is sponsored by John Chow dot Com and BlueFur. BlueFur is a Canadian based web-host hosting Canada and the world at large. And we all know John Chow dot Com is a blog all about how to make money online.

The contest runs until July 31, 2007. On August 1, 2007, a winner will be chosen so everyone does have some time to enter. You can expect many to enter but only one winner. Get your entries in now!

Internship Finally

elgin_interior.jpg

Tomorrow, I’ll start working for Elgin Industries of Elgin, Illinois. Just the past few days, I have been interviewing with them and going through orientation in preparation for my internship this summer. I’m very glad that they were able to reach out to me and offer me a position. To put it loosely, I’ll be managing about four to seven temporary workers to ensure maximum efficiency. I’ll learn more about the position as I settle into it. I’m actually a bit nervous but I am ready for the challenges and the remarkable experience. Maybe this will be a great time to catch up on some financial tips from Jennifer Lynn.

Win a Zune

zune.gifA couple months ago, I ran a contest that was giving away a free Amazon.com gift certificate. I ran the contest to increase my blog’s visibility and also grab a few new readers. Did it work? It worked out nicely, but there is always room for improvement. This time around, I found another great contest being run by Danielle on her blog site. She is giving away a brand new 30GB Zune that she won from John Chow, who won it in another contest. Yes, this Zune has been passed around a few times, but it appears to still be in mint condition. From what I gather, one of John Chow’s friends opened the Zune to simply review it but nothing more. In addition, Danielle has said that the Zune is still in its box since the day she received it from John.

The Good Zune

Contrary to what many people think, the Zune is actually a pretty good personal digital audio player. Considering this is Microsoft’s first attempt to take on the venerable Apple iPod, it is a pretty good shot. A couple of my friends have the Zune and they really love it. One of them even migrated from the iPod to the Zune. It definitely has a few “clinks” that Microsoft needs to work on, but it is a great competitor. Besides, why pay $250 for a brand new Zune when you can win one from Danielle? Just to throw a small teaser out there, I wonder if Danielle is going to pay for the shipping charges?

Happy Father’s Day

fatherban.jpg

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, grand-dads, great-grand-dads, etc. Today is a joyous day to pay our respects to our fathers and recognize them for the important roles they play in our lives. My father has been instrumental in helping me to develop and cultivate both my academic and professional careers. Without his support, I would be nothing and would not have the things I have today. I think the fondest memory that I have with my father is when he comforted me and told me not to worry when I was going through some rough times at school a few years ago. He reminded me to stay focused and let him worry about what would happen should the worst occur. Hope all of you dads have a wonderful day :)
